The Adult Basic and Literacy Education (ABLE) program provides classes and individual instruction for adults who wish to improve their basic skills and/or prepare for the General Equivalence Diploma (GED) test, which can now be taken at Tri-County Adult Career Center!

ABLE is FREE and open to the public.
What subjects can I get help with?
The ABLE program provides small group and individual instruction in the following areas:
  • Basic literacy skills
  • GED exam preparation
  • Math
  • Language Arts
  • Social Studies
  • Life skills
  • Employability skills
  • Basic computer skills

When is the ABLE lab open?
There are two ABLE labs in Athens County.

The ABLE lab located inside Tri-County Adult Career Center is open during the following hours:
  • Tuesday         2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
  • Wednesday    2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
  • Thursday        2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.

The main ABLE lab is located in The Plains, Ohio, and is open during the following hours:

  • Mondays          8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
  • Tuesdays         8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
  • Wednesdays    8:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
  • Thursdays        8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
  • Fridays             8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
