WELDING
PROGRAM
This 56 hour
welding course will be customized to the individual and is a
hands-on training. Basic to advanced welding skills can be taught
– you can learn welding safety, MIG, TIG, ARC, and/or oxyfuel
welding and cutting techniques.
GENERAL
INFORMATION
The welding industry, construction trades,
and manufacturers currently need welders to fill positions across
the Tri-State.
This program will train you in all
applications of welding through an AWS (American Welding Society)
curriculum and is Pell eligible.
Upon successful completion of the program,
students will become AWS welding certified in areas of high pressure
or structural welding.
The total cost of the program includes
hands-on training, a book, all materials (metals and gases), and a
very comprehensive kit (hood, jacket, gloves, hand tools, tool bag,
etc.).
Students will learn welding safety, oxy-fuel
equipment and welding, shielded and gas metal arc welding, electrode
section and welding processes including lap, fillet and groove
welds. All program completers will be eligible for
ACT.
